Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

2. The Second Instruction: Keep a Distance
Joshua 3:4 says, “Make sure you keep a proper distance between you and it, about half a mile—be sure now to keep your distance! You’ll see clearly the route to take. You’ve never been on this road before.”
This instruction emphasized the holiness of God and the need for reverence. It also ensured that everyone could clearly see the Ark and follow without confusion.

God’s presence is sacred, and we must approach Him with reverence. Keeping a respectful distance symbolizes our acknowledgment of His holiness. Hebrews 12:28-29 says, *”Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire.'”

Joshua 3:5 records Joshua’s command: “Sanctify yourselves. Tomorrow GOD will work miracle-wonders among you.”
